Anarchy is ligit. It would work. Walter Bock is one of the premier libertarian voices on this topic. look up lectures he's done (Mises.org is a good place to start. Or LewRockwell.com). We don't need a State, because individual people can do a better job. You always hear people say believe in youself, but they don't mean it because the second they're faced with a problem they want the State to take care of them. The State is slavery. The only way we can trully be free is to destroy the hobbsian leviathan (the government). to believe in yourself is antithetical to the State and its power. Either you believe in the State or you believe in people. Which is it? Remember, with out the state we wouldn't have had Hitler, Stalin, Pol pot, Mao tse tung and a load of other murderous sociopaths in a position to cause such horrid human devistation. The destruction of the State would mean no more war. Anarchy is a worthy goal. It's not the samething as chaos.
o.o whoooaaa....lol i dont even know what anarchy is. see i was stuck in the 'scene kid' phase, and i wanted a name lol wow. good way to think of things. id do anything to get gay marriage legalized though. im straight but i really wish that theyd let gays marry. kind of off topic but you seem legitly educated. see my veiw is that the constitution says that you can marry who you want. so theres a good reason. but the states are like "oh god thats against the bible, no way in heck are we letting them get married, god says no, oh god, oh dear jesus, please...", so therefore they are suggesting religious reasons. the constitution says, (since they are soooo dependant on it) that there is freedom of religion. so that makes no sense. to me anyway. lol sorry for that rant.
Gay Marriage. First, if there can be said to be a legitimate reason for the existence of the state, it can be said that that one and only reason is for the protection of your life and liberty. that's it (I personally don't believe the state is even necessary for this though - in fact it trends towards the opposite). Legislating morality doesn't come into the picture. The State should only be concerned with stopping us from bumping into each other. In other words: if you aren't violating anybody elses rights, you should be allowed to do whatever you want. Second, I don't believe there should be ANY State recognition of marriage (straight or gay). Why does anyone need approval and a license from the State for such a thing? That should be between you, your spouse, whoever marries you and God. that's it. The State being involved is superfluous. All the legal benefits that usually go along with a marriage license can be written up in some fifty dollar contract. easy. The benefits one acquires through marriage in regards to taxes is sickening to me. Why does the government think it has a right to "encourage" one set of behavior (being married) while discouraging another (being single). That is social engineering and it is the height of conceit to think that one person (or group of people) can know what is best for another person (or group of people). Let people be free. as long as they aren't hurting anyone else - let them be free. By the way... I am a Christian, but I'm not one of these neocon's who think they can make everyone believe like they do just by making up new laws. That's backwards and intellectually lazy. If you want to convince someone that what they’re doing is wrong (like smoking crack), simply passing a law won't work (they can't even keep drugs out of jail. How do they think they can keep them out of the hands of anyone else?). If you don't want the people you love doing crack, talk to them about it and reason with them. If someone isn't harming someone else, how can it be said to be a real crime? Anarchy (not chaos) and libertarianism is about one overriding belief: individual freedom. Sorry for the length of my rant.
