A Knowing

Young boy nowhere to go,
Broken house and  a heart of stone,
What he had left of a family,
Is long gone.
Standing there beside the church,
He's all alone in a world of hurt.
He tries to hold it all  in,
But just makes it worse.
So he steps into his room and locks the door,
Puts the gun against his head and asks the Lord,
Is this the way that im supposed to leave?
Or should I drown myself in my misery?
I cant help but to think that nobody cares.
God are you out there?
A voice in his head laughs at him,
Says son I love you and I always will.
Now put down that thing down and don't be afraid,
This is what I say,
That gun your holdin wont make the kill,
But if you let him get to ya the devil will.
So take a deep breath and just look around,
I promise you,
I wont let you down.
Young girl lost her way,
In this cold world shes come to hate,
She wants to go home,
But she thinks its too late.
No idea where the road will turn,
Shes just takin life,
As a live and learn game.
Leanin up against the church one night,
Givin up on hope and her losin fight,
Letting all her dreams,
Just pass her by…and she starts to cry.
